Diversity, equity, and inclusion

Our lawyers come from 20+ countries, speak 30+ languages, and are qualified in 30+ jurisdictions. We have different backgrounds, cultures, and identities.

What we have in common is our commitment to excellence.

Three Crowns is committed to creating an environment that attracts, retains, and inspires a diverse array of talented individuals in a culture that fosters innovation, values diversity of thought, and reflects the global perspectives of our clients.

Diverse insights and perspectives go to the heart of our clients’ issues across different regions, languages, and peoples. Our team reflects a variety of cultures and backgrounds that do not just contribute to, but are an essential element of, our firm’s inclusive culture.

This inclusive culture sparks creativity and innovation, and cultivates collaboration and belonging. We are dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion in everything we do, including recruitment, professional development, and mentorship. We offer all our people forums for open dialogue and discussion, creating an environment where each person can reach his or her full potential.

IMPERATIVE TO SUCCESS

In addition to being important values in their own right, diversity and inclusion are imperative if we are to succeed for our clients. The insights we gain from our international clientèle and our individual talent go to the heart of clients’ issues in different industries, cultures and geographies.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Our diversity, equity and inclusion goals remain a work in progress, underscoring our commitment to continuous growth and improvement. We recognise there is more to be done across our firm and our industry, and it remains a priority.

DEDICATED GROUPS

Three Crowns has established a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion group and a separate Women’s Group. These groups are led by Three Crowns partners and open to all members of staff.

Our firmwide Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Group contributes to the firm’s approach to diversity and inclusion by implementing initiatives that enhance cultural awareness, such as training on allyship and unconscious bias, promoting equitable opportunities, and creating a forum for all voices to be heard and respected.

The 3C Women’s Group offers a discussion space and additional mentoring for female staff, as well as welcoming guest speakers on a regular basis.

ACHIEVE YOUR POTENTIAL

Our people enjoy continuous opportunities for best-in-class learning and professional development, tailored to their individual needs.

We support our lawyers in their development as well-rounded international arbitration lawyers, through hands-on advocacy training, regular practical instruction, ongoing feedback, and dedicated mentorship from leaders in the field. Just as our clients value the independence of our advice, we value critical input from all our lawyers in any task we undertake.

Our bespoke learning and development programme, ‘Growing the 3C Way’, is designed to create an environment that distinguishes Three Crowns from other firms. The programme encompasses technical skills, such as advocacy and drafting, client skills, and effective business development. It also develops the essential ‘softer’ skills required to manage client and colleague relationships, and cases, effectively and efficiently.

In our view. excellence comes not from thick manuals, unnecessary face time, or excessive hours, but from giving talented and motivated individuals space to do their work to the best of their abilities.
