Three Crowns to host panel on mining-related disputes with a focus on Mexico and Peru at PDAC 2024

Events 23rd February 2024

Three Crowns will host a panel presentation on “Hot topics in mining-related disputes: Practical lessons from México, Peru and beyond”, at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2024 Convention in Toronto.

PDAC is the world’s premier mineral exploration and mining convention. The four-day event, taking place from March 3-6, attracts up to 30,000 attendees from over 130 countries for its educational programming, technical sessions, exhibitor showcases, and networking events.

Partners Liz Snodgrass and Agustín G. Sanz will speak alongside Mayra Bryce Alberti and Cecilia Gonzáles Guerra of Payet, Rey, Cauvi, Pérez Abogados, and Montserrat Manzano and Edmond Frederic Grieger of Von Wobeser & Sierra.

The session will explore current and prospective challenges faced by the mining industry in complying with the evolving set of regulatory, labor, environmental, and social obligations imposed on companies in the extractive sector. Our expert panellists will analyze current examples of disruption of mining projects and what practical measures can be adopted to minimize such risks and prepare for potential disputes. There will be a reception following the panel with hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

The event will take place on Tuesday 5 March from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Room 203B, North Building, Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
