Three Crowns to host event as part of London International Disputes Week

Events 3rd May 2023

Three Crowns will host a panel on the topic of “Fixing what ain’t broke: does the Arbitration Act 1996 really need reform?” in collaboration with 3VB, as part of London International Disputes Week 2023.

This session will feature Leilah Bruton speaking alongside Mark Wassouf (Barrister, 3VB), Sapfo Constantatos (Senior Legal Counsel, Standard Chartered Bank), and Natalie Sheehan (Chief Counsel Copper, Rio Tinto), with Ali Malek KC (Barrister, 3VB) acting as session chair.

The panel will explore the Law Commission’s proposed reforms of the 1996 Arbitration Act and whether those reforms are necessary. Panellists will discuss whether the expectations of users of international arbitration have changed in recent years and give their views on whether the proposals will help or hinder London’s pre-eminence as an arbitral seat.

The hybrid event will take place on Wednesday 17 May from 10:00 am to 11:00 am BST.
