Three Crowns has been ranked fourth in the world for international arbitration in Global Arbitration Review’s GAR 30 rankings, moving up three places since the last edition of the guide. The commentary recognises the firm’s “talent for steady progress” whilst noting it is one of the “pound-for-pound stars” of the current GAR 30.
In the seventeenth edition of the guide, GAR highlights that Three Crowns “stands out in this year’s top 10 as the only top 10 firm on a streak”, as the firm moves up in the rankings for the second consecutive year to achieve its highest finish to date. The publication notes that Three Crowns has posted its most impressive set of hearing figures yet and is the only firm in the top 10 to improve in this category year on year. The firm entered the GAR rankings in 2016, less than two years after its launch, and it has appeared in the top 10 every year since 2017.
The guide highlights some of Three Crowns’ recent victories, including obtaining a US$54 million award for Elliott Associates in a dispute against the Republic of Korea arising from the state’s interference in a Samsung merger, successfully defeating claims for US$400 million in damages brought against Malaysian energy company Malakoff, and securing a US$21 million award for ContourGlobal in an ICC arbitration against the Republic of Kosovo.
The GAR 100 is an annual guide to the top one hundred international arbitration practices globally. As part of this, the GAR 30 uses objective data to single out the highest performing firms within the rankings.
