Three Crowns ranked in band one in Chambers Global 2022

Three Crowns has been ranked in band one in Chambers Global for international arbitration. In addition, the firm maintains a leading ranking in public international law.

Constantine Partasides QCGaëtan VerhooselGeorgios Petrochilos QC, and Todd Wetmore have been individually ranked.

CONSTANTINE PARTASIDES QC

In maintaining his band one ranking, Chambers notes that Constantine “remains a prominent figure in the global arbitration market, renowned for advising and representing clients from the energy sector in complex arbitration proceedings involving Middle Eastern and Asian states”. One source states that Partasides is “one of the top arbitration counsel in the world”. Constantine has appeared as counsel in some of the largest commercial arbitrations of the past decades and his broad practice includes inter-State and investment treaty disputes. He is a Director of the  LCIA Board, and has published extensively on international arbitration and international law.

GAËTAN VERHOOSEL

Gaëtan maintains a leading ranking in the guide and is praised for having a “brilliant mind” and that “his vision, strategy, knowledge and experience of international arbitrations is excellent”. Gaëtan has served as advocate and as arbitrator in numerous commercial and investment treaty arbitrations where significant financial recoveries were at stake or novel legal issues raised. He was recently appointed as Queen’s Counsel and is a Member of the SIAC Court of Arbitration.

GEORGIOS PETROCHILOS QC

Georgios continues to be highly ranked and is considered to be a standout practitioner “notably due to his ability to grasp foreign law”. The guide also notes that his capabilities are further enhanced by his ability to practise Greek, UK, and French law. Georgios has a broad practice spanning more than two decades and covering inter-State, investment, and commercial disputes. He has represented States, international organisations, and private parties in more than 70 disputes, including several appearances in the International Court of Justice. Georgios has published extensively, including the well-known monograph Procedural Law in International Arbitration, and the leading commentary, UNCITRAL Rules.

TODD WETMORE

Todd also maintains his leading ranking with an interviewee describing him as “a fantastic counsellor”, while another highlights that he is a “very strong advocate”. Qualified in civil and common law, Todd has over 25 years of experience handling some of the largest and most complex commercial cases. He regularly acts as counsel in the oil & gas, technology, manufacturing, mining, and commodities sectors, and is a recognised specialist in infrastructure and construction disputes. Todd is a Vice-President of the ICC Court of Arbitration.
