Three Crowns LLP and the Africa Energy Arbitrators’ Forum (AEA) of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce International Arbitration Centre (LACIAC) hosted a webinar in March 2022, which centred on the future of East African energy and infrastructure disputes. Partner Constantine Partasides QC provided the keynote address, which was followed by a discussion moderated by counsel Hamid Abdulkareem. The speakers included Kathryn Khamsi (Partner at Three Crowns), Dr Victoria Nalule (CEO of Nalule Energy & Minerals Consultants and Founder & Executive Director of African Energy and Minerals Management Initiative), Maxime Rabilloud (Country Chair at TotalEnergies Mozambique), and Cecil Kuyo (Partner at Bowmans).
The panellists highlighted the triggers for current and future energy and infrastructure-related disputes, trends in the resolution of disputes, and recommendations for policy makers and practitioners alike on proactive and effective dispute management.
