As part of Australian Arbitration Week, Penny Martin will participate in a debate titled “Australia should have a more significant presence in Asia as an International Arbitration Centre”, organised by Lighthouse Club Australia. The debate will also feature The Hon. James Allsop AC (Sydney Arbitration Chambers and Atkin Chambers), The Hon. Wayne Martin AC KC (Francis Burt Chambers and 39 Essex Chambers) and Shashank Garg (Chambers of Shashank Garg).
The debate will take place on Tuesday 15 October 2024 from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm AEST at Corrs Chambers Westgarth Brisbane.

ABOUT PENNY MARTIN
Penny, counsel in the Singapore office, has more than a decade of experience in international commercial arbitration, public international law, and international human rights law. Her primary focus has been on energy-related disputes, including disputes relating to long-term oil and gas agreements (including environmental, abandonment and decommissioning, and cost recovery issues), renewable energy, gas pricing, licensing, and intellectual property.
Penny was named a “Rising Star” in International Arbitration in The Legal 500 UK having been previously recognised as “Highly Regarded”. She received her BA/LLB (Hons) from Monash University and LLM in Public International Law (with Distinction) from the University of Glasgow.
