On 2 October partner Manish Aggarwal participated in a symposium hosted by the Asia-Pacific Forum for International Arbitration (AFIA). The topic of the symposium was “Arbitration in the Asian Century”, and included discussion of dispute resolution on the Belt and Road Initiative; the future of international investment arbitration in Asia; key considerations for seats, institutions and arbitral rules; and third-party funding in Asia.
The AFIA provides young practitioners with a forum to discuss issues and developments in international arbitration, with particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region. AFIA currently has over 500 members from 45 countries, and has held over 50 symposia around the world, where members share their experiences and views on international arbitration.
