Luke Sobota and Macarena Bahamonde to speak at the 9th Harvard International Arbitration Conference.

Luke Sobota and Macarena Bahamonde will speak at the at the 9th Harvard International Arbitration Conference, hosted by the Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association (HIALSA). The theme of this year’s conference is “International Arbitration: Fostering and Adapting to Change”.

Macarena will moderate the “Navigating the Complexities of ESG Disputes in Arbitration” panel on Thursday 2 March from 2:45 to 4:15 pm. Luke will then speak on the “Arbitration in the Era of Modern Technology” panel on Thursday 2 March from 4:45 to 6:00 pm.

The conference will gather leading arbitration practitioners from across the world to discuss some of the key issues that practitioners are facing in the field at present.

The event will take place on Thursday 2 March and Friday 3 March at Wasserstein Hall, Harvard University Law School, Cambridge, MA.

ABOUT LUKE SOBOTA

Luke is a founding partner of Three Crowns and represents private and sovereign clients in some of their most significant commercial, investor-State, and inter-State arbitrations. His practice spans the technology, energy, and financial sectors and includes successfully prosecuting one of the largest ICC cases in history.

Luke is a Senior Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, and regularly writes and speaks about issues of international law and arbitration. ABOUT MACARENA BAHAMONDE

Macarena is an international associate in the London office. She specialises in commercial and investment arbitration under a variety of arbitration rules in a range of sectors including energy and natural resources, pharmaceuticals, and construction.

Macarena is a co-founder of Ecuadorian Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (ECUVYAP) and she coaches the arbitration moot team of University of San Francisco of Quito. Macarena was elected as the Ecuadorian Arbitration Institute Young Members’ Representative and is an Arbitrator Intelligence Ambassador for Latin America. She speaks Spanish, English, and French.
