Reza Mohtashami KC will speak on a panel titled, “Who pays the bills? The cost of arbitration”, as part of GAR Live: Dubai 2024. This year’s conference is designed to bring together practitioners from across the UAE and the wider MENA region to explore, discuss, and analyse the latest major developments in arbitration.
This session will examine current issues related to the costs surrounding international arbitration in the UAE and abroad. Panellists will explore what’s expected from the arbitrator, courts, and parties in their part in trying to save costs in an arbitration.
Reza will speak alongside Aarta Alkarimi (Chrysalis International), Christopher Bogart (Burford Capital), Don Jeon (Kim & Chang), with Sara Aranjo (Morgan Lewis) moderating the session.
The conference will take place on Wednesday 13 November at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre.

ABOUT REZA MOHTASHAMI KC
Reza is a partner in the London office. He has represented clients as counsel and advocate in more than 90 arbitrations conducted under a variety of arbitration rules in many different jurisdictions. Reza has particular expertise in disputes arising in emerging markets with a focus on the telecoms, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
