Three Crowns maintains leading rankings for International Arbitration and Public International Law in The Legal 500 UK 2025 edition

Three Crowns continues to be listed as a tier one firm for International Arbitration in The Legal 500 UK 2025 rankings. Constantine Partasides KC and Gaëtan Verhoosel KC maintain their listing in the “Hall of Fame”, and Reza Mohtashami KC is again ranked as a “Leading Partner”. Manish Aggarwal and Leilah Bruton maintain their rankings as “Next Generation Partners”,  Jonathan Fernandes is recognised again as a “Leading Individual”, and Richard Trinick continues to be recognised as a recommended lawyer. The firm also maintains a leading ranking in the Public International Law guide, in which Hamid Abdulkareem is again recognised as a recommended lawyer, with Farouk El-Hosseny and Ridhi Kabra ranked as “Leading Associates”.

In naming Three Crowns as a top practice in International Arbitration, The Legal 500 highlights that the firm is “consistently mandated to act in the market’s most significant commercial, investment and inter-state arbitral cases”. The guide emphasises the quality and expertise of our team, noting that our “lawyers come from diverse backgrounds and possess a wide range of litigation experience, with a proven track record of success” and that our partners “routinely obtain mega-value awards on behalf of major clients”.

In this edition of the Public International Law guide, the publication notes that the firm’s esteemed track record includes acting for corporations in “heavyweight investor-state proceedings brought against states, including matters that are not treaty-based”, as well as defending states against claims.

CONSTANTINE PARTASIDES KC

Constantine is again ranked in The Legal 500 UK’s “Hall of Fame” for International Arbitration and Public International Law. The guide highlighted that Constantine “routinely obtains mega-value awards on behalf of major clients”. Sources note that he is a “real star in commercial arbitration” and a “masterful advocate”, with another adding that “his reputation for excellence attracts high-profile cases and commands respect from judges and juries alike”. Constantine has appeared as counsel in some of the largest international arbitrations of the last two decades and has published extensively on international arbitration and international law. He is a Member of the ICCA Governing Board and a Director of the LCIA Board.

GAËTAN VERHOOSEL KC

Gaëtan continued to be listed in The Legal 500 UK’s “Hall of Fame” for International Arbitration, and is ranked as a “Leading Partner” in the Public International Law guide. The Legal 500 notes that Gaëtan is “an expert in commercial and treaty arbitrations involving power, renewables, banking, infrastructure, and oil and gas ”. Gaëtan has served as advocate and as arbitrator in numerous commercial and investment treaty arbitrations where significant financial recoveries were at stake or novel legal issues were raised. He is a member of the SIAC Court of Arbitration and was appointed to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators by the Kingdom of Belgium.

REZA MOHTASHAMI KC

Reza has been ranked as a “Leading Partner” again in this year’s International Arbitration guide. He is also recognised as a recommended lawyer in the Public International Law guide, in which he is described as a “Middle East disputes specialist”, who acts for “oil supermajors, construction firms, sovereign states and state entities”. Reza has represented clients as counsel and advocate in more than 90 arbitrations conducted under a variety of arbitration rules in many different jurisdictions, with particular expertise in disputes arising in emerging markets.

Leilah continues to be ranked as a “Next Generation Partner” in this year’s guides for both International Arbitration and Public International Law.
