Farouk El-Hosseny recently authored the “The Rule of Law in Investment – A Condition For Development? chapter in The Roles of International Law in Development, published by Oxford University Press. The publication was edited by Robert McCorquodale (Emeritus Professor of International Law and Human Rights at the University of Nottingham and a barrister at Brick Court Chambers, and member of the United Nations Working Group on Business and Human Rights) and Siobhán McInerney-Lankford (EU Fundamental Rights Agency).
By considering various empirical data, the chapter explores the impact on development within states when the core requirements of the rule of international law – be it in the context of maritime boundary disputes or disputes with investors who are nationals of other states – are adhered to by those states.
The publication is available to purchase here.
