Three Crowns team author chapter in The Guide to Telecoms Arbitrations – Second Edition

Publications 10th November 2023

Reza Mohtashami KCLeilah Bruton and Farouk El-Hosseny have co-authored the “Standards of Protection: The State’s Sovereign Right to Regulate and its Limits” chapter in the second edition of Global Arbitration Review’s The Guide to Telecoms Arbitrations.

This chapter focuses on the boundaries set by host-states’ obligations under international trade and investment agreements. The authors also explore two key areas of disputes in the telecommunications sector: disputes that either directly or indirectly relate to host-states seeking to exert control over spectrum and the telecommunications sector on public interest grounds; and disputes arising out of restrictive host-state measures on defence and national security grounds.
