Maanas Jain to participate in Young ICCA/YCAP debate in Vancouver on arbitration of climate change disputes

Events 24th May 2023

Maanas Jain will moderate an in-person debate in Vancouver on the motion: “Is arbitration the best dispute resolution procedure for climate change disputes?”. The debate will form part of an event hosted by Young ICCA and Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners (YCAP), which will be held the day before a joint conference organised by ICCA and the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre.  Other speakers in the debate will include Jessica Crow (Arbitra International), Hon. Barry Leon (Arbitration Place / 33 Bedford Row), Arvindran Manoosegaran (Omni Bridgeway), and Kirsten Odynski (White & Case).  Maanas will also provide opening remarks for the event in his capacity as Young ICCA Co-Chair.

The event will conclude with an “Arbitration Shark Tank”, in which young practitioners will have the opportunity to practice their own presentation and oral advocacy skills.

The event will take place on Thursday 1 June from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm PT at the offices of Blake Cassels & Graydon.
