Daryl Chew appointed to Singapore-China Joint Experts Team following 2nd Singapore-China International Commercial Dispute Resolution Conference

Daryl Chew has been appointed to a Singapore-China Joint Experts Team, comprising six members each from Singapore and China. The Joint Experts Team will make recommendations on the implementation of a joint dispute resolution mechanism and propose a set of rules and procedures that will meet the needs of businesses in Singapore, China and beyond. The twelve members of the Joint Experts Team were unveiled at the 2nd Singapore-China International Commercial Dispute Resolution Conference on 7 April 2022, hosted by the Ministry of Law (Singapore), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the International Commercial Dispute Prevention and Settlement Organisation (ICDPASO). The conference included discussions on the judiciary and legal industry’s experience overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic, innovations and international cooperation in arbitration, and the development of multifaceted international commercial dispute resolution mechanisms. Daryl delivered closing remarks at the conference in English and Mandarin, which was livestreamed online.
