Kimberly Larkin and Shaun Pereira to participate in a debate as part of Stanford International Arbitration Association’s inaugural Arbitration & Technology Conference

Kimberly Larkin and Shaun Pereira will participate in a debate as part of Stanford International Arbitration Association’s (SIAA) inaugural Arbitration & Technology Conference.

Kimberly will act in favour of the motion “This house believes that arbitration is the best way to settle tech-related disputes”, and Shaun will be debating against this.

Hugh Carlson is part of the organising committee for the conference.

The event, which will include a keynote speech on the present and future of arbitration and technology and a discussion on blockchain in the context of arbitration, will take place virtually on Thursday 31 March from 9:15am to 12:10pm PDT / 12:15pm to 15:10pm ET / 5:15pm to 8:10pm BST.

ABOUT   KIMBERLY LARKIN

Kimberly, an associate in the Washington, DC office, represents clients in international commercial and investment arbitrations across a variety of sectors, including the technology, energy, mining and natural resources, and financial services industries. ABOUT  SHAUN PEREIRA

Shaun is a senior associate in the Singapore office. He has advised and represented States, State-owned entities and multinational corporations in disputes subject to arbitration under the ICC, SIAC, HKIAC, LCIA, UNCITRAL, and AAA-ICDR rules in proceedings across the energy, construction, and financial services sectors.

Shaun is listed in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific. He teaches as Adjunct Faculty at the Singapore Management University and has published on international arbitration in leading journals, including the Journal of International Arbitration, the Lloyd’s Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly, and the Civil Justice Quarterly.

ABOUT   HUGH CARLSON

Hugh is the Managing Director of Three Crowns, in which capacity he is responsible for the firm’s global operations. He also serves as General Counsel to the firm.
