Maanas Jain to moderate panel on expedited arbitration at 6th CARTAL Conference on International Arbitration

Events 24th March 2022

Maanas Jain will moderate a panel on “Expedited Arbitration and Due Process” at the 6th CARTAL Conference on International Arbitration, hosted by the Centre for Advanced Research & Training in International Law (CARTAL) of National Law University, Jodhpur, and the Indian Journal of International Law.

The panel will discuss the increasing use of expedited procedures in international arbitration, including the circumstances in which such procedures are adopted under various institutional rules and the wide-ranging case management powers tribunals are afforded in such cases.  In particular, the panel will focus on efforts by tribunals and institutions to balance efficiency savings generated by expedited arbitration on the one hand with safeguarding the parties’ due process rights on the other.

The session, which takes place virtually, will be on Sunday 3 April from 5:00 – 6:15pm IST (12:30 – 1:45pm BST).
