Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) has appointed Gaëtan Verhoosel as a Member of the SIAC Court of Arbitration and Luke Sobota as a Member of the Board of Directors. The SIAC Court’s main functions include the appointment of arbitrators, as well as overall supervision of case administration at SIAC. The SIAC Board is responsible for overseeing SIAC’s operations, business strategy and development, as well as corporate governance matters.
SIAC is an arbitral institution that facilitates the efficient resolution of disputes in a range of sectors and is one of the most preferred arbitral institutions in the world.
ABOUT GAËTAN VERHOOSEL
Gaëtan is a founding partner at Three Crowns. He has served as advocate and as arbitrator in a large number of both commercial and investment treaty arbitrations.
Gaëtan is a past Senior Co-Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the International Bar Association and was appointed to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators by the Kingdom of Belgium. He teaches at King’s College School of Law in London.
ABOUT LUKE SOBOTA
Luke is a founding partner of Three Crowns and represents private and sovereign clients in some of their most significant commercial, investor-State, and inter-State arbitrations. His practice spans the technology, energy, and financial sectors and includes successfully prosecuting one of the largest ICC cases in history.
Luke is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, and regularly writes and speaks about issues of international law and arbitration. His publications include the second edition of Judge Stephen M. Schwebel’s International Arbitration: Three Salient Principles (Cambridge 2020) and General Principles of Law and International Due Process (Oxford 2017).
