Three Crowns partner Kathryn Khamsi has been appointed to the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). ICSID, an affiliate of the World Bank, is the main international dispute resolution forum administering investor-State disputes. Kathryn will serve a six-year term.
Kathryn has extensive experience in investor-state cases, both under investment treaties and contracts, and acting for investors as well as states. Her ICSID experience includes acting for the claimants in Eni International B.V., Eni Oil Holdings B.V. and Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited v. Federal Republic of Nigeria, ICSID Case No. ARB/20/41, and for the respondents in the now concluded Mærsk Olie, Algeriet A/S v. People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, ICSID Case No. ARB/09/14.
Kathryn was designated to the panel by the Kingdom of Bahrain, and joins Three Crowns founding Partner Jan Paulsson, Maxi Scherer and Nassib Ziadé as the Kingdom’s appointees.
