ABOUT LUKE SOBOTA

Sobota, a founding partner of Three Crowns, represents private and sovereign clients in some of their most significant commercial, investor-state, and inter-state arbitrations.

Luke is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School, and regularly writes and speaks about issues of international law and arbitration. He was invited by former International Court of Justice (ICJ) President Stephen Schwebel to co-author the second edition of International Arbitration: Three Salient Principles (Cambridge 2020), along with Three Crowns colleague Ryan Manton. In addition, Luke co-authored General Principles of Law and International Due Process (Oxford 2017).

In addition to Chambers, Sobota is recognized in other leading directories and rankings, including The Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal.  He clerked for the late Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, William H. Rehnquist, and worked in the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Snodgrass has more than two decades of experience as an advocate and counsellor in international arbitration matters. Her practice is evenly balanced between commercial and investment treaty arbitration. Snodgrass has particular expertise handling disputes involving States and State entities. Her clients span a wide variety of sectors, with a focus on the upstream energy, power, mining, aerospace, and telecoms.

Snodgrass’ publications on international law and arbitration issues include the seminal article, “Protecting Investors’ Legitimate Expectations” in the ICSID Review. She also has authored numerous articles and book chapters on issues of arbitration practice and procedure. Snodgrass regularly guest lectures and speaks at client and industry events about arbitration issues.
